Project status

Frøhus Forest Resort & Casino is a planned five-star hotel, casino and spa resort in development, in the forests and lakes of Femundsmarka, inland Trøndelag, Norway. The exact location is to be announced. Nothing has been built, the resort is not open, and no bookings are accepted. The opening date is to be announced. Areas, capacities and other figures on the website are project figures and may change, and all images are artist’s impressions. The interest list is not a booking and creates no obligation.

About the project

Frøhus means “seed house” in Norwegian. The planned resort is designed around a Seed House, where old local varieties of vegetables, herbs and grain are to be kept and sown each year, a kitchen garden and greenhouse, and the old pine forest and lakes that surround the site. Rooms, restaurants, a spa and event spaces are planned around them, together with an entertainment and gaming lounge that is subject to licensing.

Images and content

All images on the website are artist’s impressions created to show the intended character of the resort. They are not photographs of existing buildings, and any resemblance to a particular real building, person or place is unintended. Layouts, areas and finishes may change during construction. Texts describe plans and intentions and are updated as the project develops.

Gaming and licensing

The planned entertainment and gaming lounge is subject to licensing. Land-based casinos are not currently licensed in Norway. Casino games and gaming machines are offered only by Norsk Tipping, which holds an exclusive right, and betting on horse racing only by the Norsk Rikstoto foundation. The gaming part of the lounge will open only if the law allows it and all necessary permits are granted. The website itself offers no gambling of any kind.

Responsible gaming

Gaming, if it is ever permitted at Frøhus, will be for adults aged 18 and over only. If gambling stops being fun for you or someone close to you, Hjelpelinjen offers free and confidential help by telephone on 800 800 40 and online at hjelpelinjen.no.

Statement on seed

The Frøhus project is not connected with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any state, international or scientific seed collection, seed storage facility or research institution, in Norway or anywhere else. The Seed House is the resort’s own working building. Seed kept there is intended solely for the resort’s own garden and kitchen: it is not sold, exchanged or distributed to anyone. The project makes no claims about conservation, certification or environmental performance; the website describes only what is planned.

Statement on the forest

Walks in the forest around Frøhus are planned under Norway’s right of public access (allemannsretten) and the rules that come with it: to move with care, to leave no trace and to respect grazing reindeer and the people who herd them. The website gives no advice on picking, identifying or eating wild plants, berries or mushrooms, and nothing on it should be taken as such advice.

Names and trade marks

Frøhus, Frøhus Forest Resort & Casino and the sprouting F monogram are names and marks used by the site owner for this project. Names of other resorts or companies that appear on the website are used for editorial comparison only; they belong to their respective owners, and their use implies no connection with or endorsement by those owners.

Accessibility

We aim for the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Text and controls are designed to have sufficient contrast, every feature can be used with a keyboard, moving images can be paused, and animation is reduced if your device asks for it.
